Ronnie K. Irani Center for the Creation of Economic Wealth (I-CCEW)

I-CCEW specializes in high-impact projects related to technology commercialization, social entrepreneurship and innovation, software and web development, agile product design, and entrepreneurial support. The semester-long I-CCEW internship program provides undergraduate and graduate students with opportunities to engage in real-world innovation projects at the university and within the Oklahoma community. In addition to the internship program, I-CCEW fosters an entrepreneurial ecosystem by providing community programming, including venture strategy consulting sessions and events like Startup Weekend OU, TEDxOU, and OK Coders.

The Office of Technology Development (OTD)

Following the “eureka!” moment of a new discovery, OU innovators partner with the Office of Technology Development to transform their ideas into a tangible impact for the betterment of society. OTD serves as the hub of university intellectual property, and as the gateway through which inventions are protected and reach the marketplace via licensing or start-up. With the mission of cultivating a campus culture of commercialization, OTD provides education and guidance to interested researchers and supports commercialization-focused student internships. Exciting new initiatives within the office include the Growth Fund, which strengthens the commercial potential of university research and intellectual property by providing short-term funding for commercially focused research and prototyping. Additionally, the office has recently launched a Venture Fellowship program for postdoctoral students that offers hands-on entrepreneurial education and experience working on the advancement of early-stage university assets toward commercialization.
